Juru

Bukit Mertajam is a suburb within the city of Seberang Perai. It lies between the Perai Free Industrial Zone (Perai FIZ) to the north and Batu Kawan to the south, 11.8km south of Butterworth. Juru is named after the village of Kampung Juru, which in turn was named after Sungai Juru which forms the southern limit of Juru.

Juru Auto-City, a retail precinct consisting of various car showrooms and food outlets, is located within this suburb. The suburb is also adjacent to the industrial parks at Bukit Minyak and Bukit Tengah.
